Children<\/strong> for Children<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Dominican Republic, children are entitled to free education, but the cost of school uniforms and supplies is still a heavy burden for many parents. With the Domino Foundation, we are working on different ways people can support these children. The Children for Children school project is one of those ways. In this way, we not only collect supplies for the school in Puerto Plata, but we also try to make the children in Dutch schools aware, that education is not taken for granted everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monday, May 13, 2024.
We are starting the Children for Children project for the second time. This time at my nephew's school, St. Dyonisius Elementary School in Schinnen.<\/strong> Again, the children are enthusiastic. For 3 weeks a lot is donated. The plastic boxes are in all 3 units. Besides functional school supplies also here again nice notebooks, sticker sheets, key chains, stuffed animals and pencil cases completely filled with stuff. 7 full crates and a filled backpack we were able to pick up on Friday, May 30.<\/p>\n

Arriving home, quickly sorted everything. The regular school supplies were already picked up on Saturday, May 31, to begin their journey to Puerto Plata. The stuffed animals and other presents will begin their journey in September so that they arrive in time for the toy market in December, where all the children, who participate in the project, get to pick out a Christmas present.<\/p>\n

Again, we are incredibly grateful for so many kind people who think of the children for whom education is not a given!<\/p>\n
