Children Helping Children - Bernadette Maria - Delft

How it began

It all started when the opportunity arose to send goods to the Dominican Republic, thanks to a generous sponsor. Thus was born the idea for the school project. A project that focuses not only on collecting material goods, but above all on providing future prospects for the children who need it most.

In the Dominican Republic, children are entitled to free education, but the cost of school uniforms and supplies is still a heavy burden for many parents. With the Domino Foundation, we are working on different ways people can support these children. The school project is one of those ways.

Our first school

The Bernadette Maria School in Delft was the location for our first school project, where we were warmly welcomed. In each of the nine classes we had the opportunity to place a box in which children could donate their school supplies. It was heartwarming to see how parents were informed through the newsletter and how the response after two weeks surprised us. The filled boxes exceeded our expectations, filled not only with practical school supplies, but also with countless fun extras, some of which were lovingly wrapped like presents.

Thank you

All this was possible thanks to the support of our sponsors. A special thanks goes to PLUS Tanthof for sponsoring the boxes and to De Stickerstudio in cooperation with Zegwaard Rioolontstopping for the beautiful stickers with our logo. Their contributions to this project helped to reach even more children.

The donated items will soon make their way to the Dominican Republic, where they will help many children to a better future
